AI Ready Schools is an Erasmus+ project that supports secondary schools in preparing for the effective, ethical, and responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. As AI technologies become increasingly present in teaching and learning, the project aims to help schools develop the knowledge, policies, and practices needed to integrate AI in ways that enhance educational quality while safeguarding fundamental values such as transparency, inclusion, privacy, and human oversight. The project promotes a whole-school approach to AI readiness, recognising that successful adoption requires not only technological awareness but also organisational preparedness and informed decision-making.
The project develops practical resources for school leaders, teachers, and students to strengthen AI literacy and digital competence. Key outputs include AI policy guidelines for schools, professional development opportunities for educators, self-assessment tools to evaluate AI readiness, and learning activities that encourage students to critically explore the opportunities and challenges of AI. Through pilot activities and stakeholder engagement, AI Ready Schools seeks to foster a culture of responsible innovation, ensuring that schools are equipped to harness the benefits of AI while addressing ethical, pedagogical, and societal considerations.
