Let’s meet offline! is a project that supports schools, educators, and civil society organisations in strengthening children’s social-emotional development, resilience, and well-being through relational pedagogy, play-based learning, and healthier digital habits. Responding to the growing dominance of screens and digital devices in children’s everyday lives, the project promotes meaningful offline interaction, free play, face-to-face communication, and experience-based learning. Its aim is not to reject technology, but to help schools create a healthier balance between digital engagement and real-world relationships, while fostering inclusion, belonging, collaboration, creativity, and emotional well-being.
The project develops practical resources and training opportunities for teachers, schools, and NGOs to embed offline connection and play into everyday educational practice. Key outputs include a Toolkit with 20 lesson scenarios and 20 intervention cards, a research-based Booklet on offline relationships and play, a Training Guide and three-day international professional development programme, and a cross-border network of pilot schools sharing good practices. More than 100 teachers and NGO staff will be trained, while pilot activities in three schools will test the methodologies through lessons, breaktime activities, and wider school practices. Through community events, webinars, conferences, and policy dialogue, Let’s meet offline! seeks to build sustainable school cultures in which children have more opportunities to connect, play, communicate, and learn together beyond the screen.
